Get estimates signed online, with your terms attached

Bit & Grain can now collect a real signature when a client accepts an estimate or approves a change order, with your terms and conditions right above the signature line.

Check Require a signature to accept on any estimate, and the one-tap Accept button on your client's portal page becomes a review-and-sign card. They draw their signature with a finger or type their name, confirm their full name, and check the agreement line before anything goes through; declining is still one tap away. The moment they sign, the estimate flips to accepted, the portal shows Signed and accepted with the signature, the name, and the date and time, and both of you get an email with the signed copy. On your side, the estimate keeps the signature image plus audit details: when it was signed, from which device, and from which internet address. Change orders get their own independent toggle and the same signing flow. And if a client accepts some other way, a text or a phone call, marking a signature-required estimate accepted asks you to attach written proof first, so there is always something on file. Before this, accept was one tap with nothing signed, and the contract lived in a folder in the truck.

You can also put your terms and conditions on every estimate. Paste your contract into Settings once and it shows on each estimate's portal page in its own card, right above the sign box. Fill-in values like {total}, {deposit}, {balance}, and {client-name} are computed per estimate, so a line like "a deposit of {50%-of-total} is due on acceptance" comes out in real dollars. When a client signs, the exact terms they saw are frozen with the signature; editing your default later never changes what a signed record shows. Say you build decks: your payment schedule, your change-order policy, and your material disclaimer now ride on every estimate, and the signed record proves the client agreed to that exact text.

You will find the signature toggle on the new estimate form below the deposit section, and terms under Settings, then Invoices & Estimates, in the Estimate terms and conditions card. Here's how to start: paste your terms into Settings, then check Require a signature to accept on your next estimate before you send it. It's available on every plan.
