Brandon Carroll, founder of Bit & Grain, in his workshop

Founder bio

Long version (2 paragraphs)

Brandon Carroll is the founder of Bit & Grain, a trade business operating system built for owner-operators and small crews. Brandon brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience, including roles at Cisco Systems and Amazon Web Services, where he saw firsthand how powerful operational systems help large organizations track costs, manage operations, and make smarter decisions. He founded Bit & Grain on the belief that small trade businesses deserve the same advantage.

As someone who enjoys woodworking and building in his own garage workshop, Brandon experienced the same frustrations tradespeople face every day: disorganized tools, scattered project information, and no clear picture of true job costs or profitability. After talking with friends and small business owners in the trades, he realized the core problem was not disorganization but visibility. Bit & Grain brings together inventory tracking, quoting, invoicing, CRM, project management, scheduling, AI assistance, and operational analytics into one connected system, so small shops can run with the clarity and confidence that enterprise tools have always delivered to larger companies.

Short version (1 paragraph)

Brandon Carroll is the founder of Bit & Grain, a trade business operating system for owner-operators and small crews. With more than 25 years in technology at Cisco Systems and Amazon Web Services, Brandon saw how powerful operational systems help large companies thrive, and how rarely small trade businesses get access to the same tools. He built Bit & Grain to close that gap: one connected platform for inventory, jobs, invoicing, scheduling, and AI-powered operational visibility.

Ultra-short (1 sentence)

Brandon Carroll is the founder of Bit & Grain, the trade business operating system that gives small shops enterprise-grade operational clarity.
