Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free tier requires no credit card. You sign up with your email or Google account and you are in immediately. A credit card is only collected when you choose to upgrade to Pro through Stripe checkout.

Can I downgrade from Pro back to Free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can downgrade from your account settings at any time. Your data stays intact. The Free-tier limits (3 active jobs, 10 clients, 5 invoices/month, 10 Grain AI queries per day) re-apply after the downgrade takes effect at the end of your billing period.

Question 3

What happens to my data if I cancel Pro?

Accepted Answer

Your data stays in your account. Cancelling Pro drops you to Free limits, but every job, client, invoice, and document you created remains readable. You will not lose historical data; you just lose access to Pro-only features like receipt scanning, mileage tracking, and unlimited AI. If you cancel your account entirely, your data is deleted within 60 days.

Are there any setup fees or hidden costs?

Accepted Answer

None. Free is $0/mo with no credit card. Pro is $29/mo flat or $288/year (17% off). Grain AI is included at both tiers, not an add-on. Extra team members on Pro are $5/user/mo when team support ships in Q2 2026. There are no per-job charges, no per-invoice fees, and no onboarding fees.

Question 5

Will the price go up after I sign up?

Accepted Answer

No. Your rate is locked at the price you sign up at. If we ever raise the Pro price for new subscribers, existing accounts stay grandfathered at their current rate. You will not get a surprise increase mid-year.
