Send estimates and invoices by text from your business number

You can now text an estimate or an invoice to a client from the same business number that already sends your appointment reminders. Open any estimate or invoice, press Send, and the sheet gives you three ways to get it there: Email, Text, or Copy link.

Text sends one message from your business number with a link to the client portal, where the client can accept the estimate or pay the invoice. It reads like this: "Summit Peaks: your invoice INV-0012 for $310.00 is ready to view and pay," followed by the link and the opt-out line. If the client has not agreed to texts yet, the sheet shows a checkbox, "The customer agreed to receive texts from [your business]." Tick it and the send records that consent on the client, and they get the one-time opt-in confirmation first. A client who has replied STOP cannot be texted, and the sheet says so instead of offering the box.

Copy link is for everything else: a message in whatever app the client prefers, or a link pasted into an email you write yourself. Copying or sharing a link on a draft marks it as sent, so the portal shows Accept or Pay instead of a draft that can't be acted on. Nothing goes out from Bit & Grain in that case.

The wording your clients agree to on the booking page, the job request form and your client forms now covers appointment reminders, estimates, invoices and payment reminders, and the same wording is on bitandgrain.app/sms-terms.

You'll find the Send sheet on every estimate and invoice on the web and in the iPhone app from 1.3. The Android app gets it in its next update. Texting needs your own business number, which comes with Pro; a trial account sees "Texting turns on when you add a card" in its place, and Email and Copy link work for everyone.
