Bit & Grain for iPhone 1.2: Apple Watch and iPad

Bit & Grain for iPhone 1.2 is on the App Store, and the one download now covers your Apple Watch and your iPad as well: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bit-grain/id6812923759. If you already have the app, update it from the App Store.

On the watch you can clock in and out, start and stop the job timer, and record a trip with Start Trip and End Trip, right from your wrist. Say you pull up to a job with your phone still in the truck. Tap Clock In on the watch and the timer is running; your phone's Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island pick it up on their own. Tap Start Trip before you head to the next stop and End Trip once you're parked, and the trip shows up on the phone for review with the 2026 IRS rate already applied. The watch signs in through Bit & Grain on your iPhone, so there is no separate login. A trip in progress on the phone is kept if the app closes.

On an iPad the tabs become a sidebar, lists sit beside their records (pick a job, an invoice or a client on the left and work on it on the right), and the dashboard spreads into columns. It works in every orientation and window size, so it holds up on a stand in the shop as well as in your hands.

Two privacy changes ride along. The first time you open Grain AI or scan a receipt, a one-time notice explains that those two features use Anthropic, and you choose whether to go ahead. Signing out now removes this phone's notifications, and deleting your account from Settings can end a paid plan at once.

You'll find the watch app in the Watch app on your iPhone under Available Apps after the update, and the iPad layout appears as soon as you open 1.2 on an iPad. It's available on every plan.
