See card processing fees in your income report, P&L and tax export

When a client pays an invoice by card, Stripe's processing fee comes out before the money reaches your bank. We recorded that fee on every payment but never showed it to you, so the net on your income report didn't match your deposits and the tax export left the fee out.

Now:

  • The income report has a Card fees total, a Card fees column and a line on the chart. Net is invoices plus manual income, minus refunds, minus card fees, so it lines up with what actually hit your bank.
  • Your P&L uses the same net.
  • The quarterly tax export lists card fees as an expense on Schedule C Line 10 (Commissions and fees). Line 1 stays your gross receipts.
  • Each card payment on an invoice shows its fee and what reached your bank.

If you've been logging Stripe fees as expenses by hand, you can stop. They're counted for you now, and logging them again would count them twice.
