Log mileage by voice and track materials by the unit

You can now log a mileage trip just by telling Grain AI about it, and your job materials can carry the unit you actually buy them in.

Tell Grain AI where you drove, like "I drove from the shop to the Henderson job," and it figures out the rest. It looks up both addresses, measures the distance, applies the current IRS mileage rate, and shows you the deduction before it saves anything. If it can't match an address or the distance looks off from what you said, it asks you first. Before this, mileage you forgot to start tracking on the road was mileage you lost. You either dug through a map app after the fact, did the math by hand, or wrote the trip off as gone. Now you can catch up on a whole day of driving from your truck seat while it is still fresh.

Say you wrapped three stops and never hit start on any of them: the supply house, the Henderson remodel, and a quick look at a new bid across town. You sit down at lunch, tell Grain AI each leg, and it logs every trip with the right mileage and the deduction already calculated. That is real money on your taxes that used to slip away. The same chat can now add materials to a job too: name the material, how many, the unit, the cost, and the supplier, and it writes the line item to the job. And across the app, materials now show a Unit (boards, sq ft, gallons, sheets, linear feet) on the job materials list, your job templates, purchase orders, the shopping list, estimates, change orders, and your job reports, so a quantity of 12 reads as 12 sheets instead of just 12.

You will find mileage logging and adding materials inside Grain AI, now at /chat in the app. The Unit field shows up wherever you work with job materials. Here's how to start: open Grain AI, type or speak a trip you forgot to track, and check the deduction before you confirm it. It's available on every plan, with Free limited to 10 Grain AI questions a day.
