Run your whole job-to-paid workflow in one place

Bit & Grain is live. You can now run your whole back office in one place: clients, jobs, equipment, your shop and job sites, and a service log, plus estimates, invoices, online payments, a portal your clients can use, and Grain AI, the assistant built into the app.

This is the full job-to-paid workflow, not a pile of disconnected screens. You track clients and the jobs you do for them, log the equipment and materials on each job, and build estimates and invoices with a line-item builder that adds up materials, labor, and custom rows for you. Estimate and invoice numbers fill in automatically (QTE-0001, INV-0001), so you stop hand-numbering documents and second-guessing which number you used last. Before this, most of you were stitching this together across a notebook, a spreadsheet, and a separate invoicing tool, then re-typing the same client and line items three times.

Picture a Friday afternoon. You finish a panel upgrade, open the job, and turn your estimate into an invoice in one tap; the line items carry straight over. You send the client a link to their portal, where they can read the estimate and accept or decline it, or open the invoice and pay you by card. The payment posts back against the invoice and your balance-due updates on its own, so you are not chasing a check or wondering if it cleared. When you get back to the truck, you snap a photo of the lumberyard receipt and Grain AI pulls out the vendor, amount, date, and line items and lets you tie it to the job. Need to add a new tool? Paste the retailer link or take a picture, and Grain AI fills in the product details so you can save it to your equipment without typing it all out.

You will find everything in the left navigation once you sign in: Clients, Jobs, Equipment, Shop & Sites, Service Log, Estimates, Invoices, and Receipts, with the Command Center as your home dashboard. Grain AI rides along on every page as a sidebar, with a full chat at /grain-ai. Here's how to start: open Settings, then Payments, and connect your Stripe account so clients can pay invoices online; then create your first client and job and build an estimate from it. It's available on every plan. Grain AI chat is free up to 10 questions a day, and Pro removes that cap and runs a stronger model.
